I'm Ellie Levine. I am a Chicago-based director and teaching artist with a focus on devised physical theatre and young audiences. I am passionate about collaborating with young people in the creative process to develop empowering and imaginative theatrical experiences.

After graduating with a BA from Northwestern University, I traveled to England to complete a Masters in Theatre Making at the University of Kent, where I wrote a practical dissertation on developing an inclusive approach to physical theatre that centers curiosity and joy.

I now work as a freelance teaching artist, director, and movement director, creating new work with and for people of all ages! I am an adjunct professor at Northwestern University, where I teach Theatre for the Very Young.
